Vilonia Fire Department Instruct Students on Fire Wise Safety

The Vilonia Fire Department visited the Vilonia Elementary and Vilonia Primary School during the week of October 19, 2015 to educate students about Fire Wise Safety.

During the week, an estimated 950 students were taught about fire safety. The fire department used Faulkner County’s fire safety trailer to engage the students in real life scenarios as it related to their personal lives. When students entered, they were taught about kitchen safety, then they moved onto the importance of safety as it related to fire places and lighters, and lastly, most children enjoyed how to exit a home properly if their house was on fire.

Overall, the Vilonia Fire Department accomplished its goal of educating a large amount of Vilonia’s young youth on fire safety.
