MAYOR STATEMENT - Bitcoin Mining Facility and March 27, 2025, Planning Commission Meeting
Last night, during the March City Council meeting, it was announced that a Bitcoin Mining Facility has requested Conditional Use approval & Site Plan review from the Vilonia Planning Commission. That facility is on the agenda for the meeting on March 27th at Vilonia City Hall. There will be a public hearing prior to the meeting. The public hearing will begin at 7PM and the meeting will immediately follow. Both the hearing and meeting are open to the public and will be livestreamed on the city’s YouTube channel (@viloniaAR).
I am aware of the issues and concerns that surround developments such as this and I want to assure everyone that myself, the Planning Commission, and the City Council want to make sure we do what is in the best interest of this community and its citizens.
Please be aware the Planning Commission must give due process for any business or development that submits a plan to be reviewed, regardless of any personal feelings.

All public comments are welcome at the meeting, so please attend to voice your questions or concerns. If you cannot attend the meeting but have specific questions or concerns you would like addressed, please email them to CityHall@cityofvilonia.org and they will be organized and given to the Planning Commission members for review prior to the meeting.
