Vilonia Welcomes New Fire Chief

The City of Vilonia and the Vilonia Fire Department are pleased to announce the hiring of Jimmy Hoofman as Fire Chief. He will also serve as Code Enforcement and Building Inspector.

Chief Hoofman began his career in Information Technology, spending fifteen of his twenty-seven years there as a system programmer. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Central Arkansas and has spent the last ten years as an Emergency Room Nurse. Chief Hoofman has spent eighteen years at the Vilonia Fire Department, with the last three years as a part-time paid captain.

I have now been given the opportunity to serve as the Chief of the Vilonia Fire Department and I couldn’t be prouder of this accomplishment. I look forward to this new chapter of my life and my continuing service to this community. To give a quote; ‘Earn your success based on service to others, not at the expense of others.’ – H. Jackson Brown Jr. I have been fortunate to serve this community in various roles, and I am proud to continue to do so in my new role as Chief of the Fire Department!

Congratulations and welcome to the new Vilonia Fire Chief Jimmy Hoofman!
